In the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma amid world-class wine vineyards is this pastoral ranch of a new wave-y sort — a plant-based one. There are still horses to ride across the 120-acre private estate with just one four-bedroom estate with a heated outdoor pool and glamping tent and an off-the-grid two-bedroom barn-slash-treehouse for guest accommodations. Nigerian dwarf goats, Scottish highlander cows, and chickens round out the farm menagerie. Families are welcome to interact with the animals. Other activities at NewTree Ranch include reforestation-minded tree plantings, paddleboarding, nature walks, family yoga, seed-to-table cooking classes, and pizza-making using ingredients from the property’s biodynamic farm.
