In Wine Country, some of the most memorable experiences happen outside the tasting room.

In a recent Nob Hill Gazette feature exploring the future of Napa and Sonoma, writer Lauren Sloss looks beyond wine to the food, culture, natural beauty, and experiences giving travelers more reasons to spend time in the region. At NewTree Ranch, that means getting outside and connecting more deeply with the land.

Across 120 private acres, guests can shape their days around the outdoors, whether that means yoga in the morning, forest bathing beneath the redwoods, spending time with the animals, exploring the gardens, or taking an outdoor bath while they graze nearby.

For Edward, that connection to nature doesn’t replace one of Wine Country’s greatest pleasures. It can make you appreciate it differently.

Speaking with Nob Hill Gazette about his own relationship with wine, Edward shared how seeking out thoughtfully-made and regenerative wines has become part of his experience of the region: “I think that a connection to nature helps you appreciate them.”

It’s an idea that feels at home at NewTree Ranch. The gardens, food, animals, experiences, and surrounding wine country aren’t separate parts of a stay. They’re different ways of connecting with the place you’re in.

Spend the day outside. Taste something grown nearby. Walk through the garden before dinner. Explore Sonoma County, then come back to the privacy of the ranch and experience Wine Country at your own pace.
